Henry David Thoreau

Griggstown Canal

The Thoreau Outing
The Thoreau Outing is an inter-disciplinary fieldtrip that students take to the historical Delaware and Raritan Canal in Griggstown, New Jersey in late September to try to recapture some of the intellectual freedom, awe for nature, and introspection that Thoreau presents in his uniquely American masterpiece, Walden.

Some quotations from Walden:

"Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumb-nail." more
